Hi, The makefile rule for "make emacs" is convenient, the only issue with it is that it deletes all the .elc files so one have to byte compile the whole project after testing which is inconvenient when it is certain that .elc files are up to date. Is it better to provide another rule that does the same thing as "make emacs" without deleting the .elc files? Thanks, York

This is a leftover from an older workflow, before Evil was usable enough to edit Evil. Commit 42e0549 leaves .elc files intact when running "make emacs". -- Vegard
