BTW, good luck with the "trailing newlines" removal -- are you now going to unset `require-final-newline' every time you edit the files? ;-)
Erm, bad commit message. Originally, each file had /two/ trailing newlines (i.e., a blank line at the end), while with the updated Makefile they only need one.
