Dear ones! I´ll be hosting a session in the Art of Relational Facilitation Symposium! My session is: “Strengthening Relationality with the More-than-human World”. You can sign up here https://courageofcare.org/art-of-relational-facilitation-symposium-2023/ In case you want to be part but can´t contribute let me know :) You have more info about the symposium and here of my session: This session with Andrea at our Art of Relational Facilitation symposium is an invitation to bring our non human companions to the space to acknowledge them on our spaces when sharing with others. In Andean cosmoliving, nature and the more than human is always acknowledged, the modern construction of relationships and capitalist education has forgotten the connection with the land, with the mountains, with the birds, with the wind. In this session, we will be invited to remember that in every word, in every heartbeat, in every thought, we bring our territory with us, we bring our rivers, our oceans, and our birds. Even if we live in the middle of the big cities, the more than human is much more immense. This invitation is to engage in a deeper level of relationships, when we acknowledge our territories, we invite a full resonance with one another, a deeper interaction and trust that goes beyond words. Why do this? Relationships are at the core of our ways of learning and unlearning life, it is our way to breaking the capitalist system paved rodes to open up cracks and explore what arises from there. Building trust in relationships is one huge tool for deep engagement, to let go of ways of controlling spaces, and one another, and to open up a culture of "yes and..." to build new possibilities together. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Courage of Care <[email protected]> Date: Mon, Dec 4, 2023 at 8:48 AM Subject: WEDNESDAY! Together we will reflect on relational compassion and care, and how to hold space for and reclaim belonging and community in the face of disconnection, polarization, and rupture. Session Two 11:30am Eastern | 4:40pm UTC Building Relational Power With and Within with Monika L. Son, Ph.D. Systems of oppression live in our bodies and are reproduced through our cultural practices, influencing how we think about, relate to, and practice power. As relational facilitators we are aware of the different ways that power shows up in space in our bodies, families, communities, institutions, nature. Together we will explore our relationships to power and how to deepen our sense of power with(in), in service of strengthening relational culture. Session Three 1:00pm Eastern | 5:00pm UTC Strengthening Our Movements for Justice and Liberation with Leila McCabe, Cynthia Ong and Aurash Khawarzad The work of building relational culture can be challenging, especially when we encounter setbacks, differences in ideology, political losses and relational ruptures. How can we build organizations and movements that are resilient to these challenges and more resistant to fracturing under times of stress? Join us for a panel session with relational movement leaders who are engaging in martial arts practice as a means of building personal and collective strength, community solidarity and a capacity for engaging conflict. These panelists will also address some of the nuance around self and community defense, as well as the ways in which martial arts and other somatic trainings have influenced their relational approach to movement work. Session Four 2:30pm Eastern | 6:30pm UTC On Complexity and Collective Power with Katrine Bregengaard As facilitators, we are constantly navigating tensions that if not tended to, can lead to fracture and divide. In this session we will practice the art of holding complexity and explore what capacities are needed to hold and shift tensions towards collective transformation. Session Five 3:45pm Eastern | 7:45pm UTC Breakout Sessions We are so excited to offer participants an opportunity to choose their own closing breakout session at the symposium! You’ll be able to choose from sessions including: - “Working with Conflict Across Differences and Tensions”, with Jen Sandler and Olivia Espinoza of the Stoke Collective; - “Strengthening Relationality with the More-than-human World”, with Andrea González Andino of the Ecoversities Alliance; - “Forward Stance: Building a Strong Justice Movement” with Leila McCabe of the Beloved Communities Network; and - “How Might We Facilitate and Experience Care Within Colonial Systems of Education?” with Wayne Serebrin of the University of Manitoba REGISTER TO ATTEND THE SYMPOSIUM <https://courageofcare.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ba727b3f0233855b4fdaee927&id=7c0fbe9971&e=d08ac432b6> PRACTICE WITH US Care & Action Circle | Monday, December 4 @12p ET <https://courageofcare.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ba727b3f0233855b4fdaee927&id=45724cb723&e=d08ac432b6> All community members are invited to join us for a care and action circle in which we will provide space for conversation, witnessing, and reciprocal care.
