Hello everyone It was lovely to be with some of you at the first meeting for '25 and to hear all the important developments as well as the collective intentions the group is holding for this year. I am still very new to this group and haven't met most of the folks here I think, so as a quick intro: I am an ecologist based in North Goa, India, and part of different local and international networks sensing collective action. My primary vocation is with a small organisation called Dancing with Mountains where we weave experimental pedagogies and programmes. Over the past few months, a small group of us have been planning for a scholar-activism gathering in India this year. After months of slowly developing and crafting this possibility, we condensed it into this high-level concept note <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pWZQjGS_fZBBYn7HvJtrhje051YJkSmWaewM6Jvmz0s/edit?usp=sharing>. Ashish also helped us connect important dots and suggested the GTA Learning Group as a possible co-anchor for this process. So while we very briefly spoke to it in the first meeting, we can speak about this more in our subsequent meetings in how the group here can collaborate, plan, and be more closely involved if there is appetite. We have already made some headway in resourcing ourselves for this gathering but more is welcome! I look forward to any thoughts, feedback, and comments. And see you at the next meeting :) warmly ishaan On Thu, 9 Jan 2025 at 14:04, Madhulika Banerjee < [email protected]> wrote:
Dear Marco and everyone,
I still feel very much unwell and I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to the meeting today. I’ll give it a shot, though. With apologies, Madhulika

Good evening, Marco
Unfortunately, I too will be unable to participate tomorrow, as we are in a week of intensive planning for COP30. I hope the workshop goes well.
All the best

Hello everyone,
At the meeting yesterday we had time to share our learnings/learnings from this cycle that is ending (Solstice - 21 Dec). It was a nice time to connect from the heart.
We also had the opportunity to share on common ideas and longings for this thematic group in the next cycle that soon begins.
One of the themes shared yesterday was related to "other ways of knowing" and about: What are grassroots movements around the world putting into practice?
In this regard, some of the collective actions we discussed were:
- Have a face-to-face meeting and participate in a space focused on this topic (other ways of knowing) in India, in June 2025 (proposed by Madhulika Benerjee)
- Develop together a series of questions and invite weavers (and some endorsers representing networks) to share on these issues.
- Based on interviews, map and produce short videos that can easily be shared. And also, put those short videos together and be able to present it as a short documentary. (Marco / Hajar)
- With that same information / mapping work on a written document (proposes Melanie B.)
- Develop a "toolkit" or "handbook guide" to identify, recover and amplify these "other ways of knowing"
- Luci Attala also shared on the possibility of amplifying processes through the UNESCO MOST-Bridges space (of which she is director)
We are creating an editable document to continue to co-create and shape each of these collective intentions:

Please add any additional information that has not included it.
See you at our next meeting on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Write it down in your calendars. In the meantime, let us continue to make progress on the shared document.
A strong hug,
M.A.

Hello everyone, our meeting of the thematic learning group of the GTA is approaching and we are happy to have the participation of new people and also others who have participated in similar processes. What a joy to meet!
So we feel that the first part of the meeting can focus on welcoming new participants and getting to know each other more.
We can then make a brief update on the "thematic group," review the process and continue to move forward with a view to defining a clear approach for the 2025.
We imagine a relaxed meeting with enough space to share and listen to.
