Anticipate revision arriving, Your ledger is designed to support a beam, not a joist. (semantics.) You are rightfully curious about the top of the posts, but what about the base of the "cut" It is the resting surface for the beam, and it may be decayed more than the top of the post, since moisture can collect there. You might want to prod the post with a tool there, to see if the bottom of the cut is still stable. I recently ventured into gardening and would love to swap ideas about simple yet rewarding projects. My first project was a small herb garden, and it turned out surprisingly well! Do any of you have favorite gardening tips or tools you'd recommend Excited to see what you're cultivating! *********************** Best, Alex From: Mia Lopez Date: October 22, 2024, 10:45 AM Hi Alex and everyone, That sounds lovely, Alex! One of my favorite ventures is crafting bird feeders. I often use recycled materials for a unique touch, and it's always fulfilling. A gardening tip: always water in the early morning, it helps plants absorb better. Happy gardening! Cheers, Mia *********************** From: Oliver Brown Date: October 22, 2024, 12:30 PM Good afternoon everyone, Alex, your herb garden sounds great! I enjoy creating decorative plant pots. They make wonderful gifts and allow lots of personalization. Mia, recycling materials is a great mindset. I also think using mulch around plants conserves moisture well. Can't wait to exchange more! Regards, Oliver *********************** From: Emma Knight Date: October 22, 2024, 02:40 PM Hello team, It's inspiring to hear about everyone's projects! I've been concentrating on making fairy gardens. They're enjoyable and test creativity with minimal space. A suggestion: always opt for pest-free soil to ensure your plants thrive. Looking forward to more ideas! Best, Emma
