Hey there, did you see the new park they opened downtown I walked through it yesterday and the landscaping is really something else. They have these winding paths that go through different gardens, one with all native plants and another with these sculptural hedges. I saw a bunch of people just sitting on the benches reading, it was very peaceful. Reminded me of that big park we visited a few years ago, the one with the little bridge over the pond. Speaking of which, I need to get my bike tuned up. The chain has been making this clicking noise every time I pedal up a hill. Maybe this weekend I’ll take it to the shop on Maple Street. Have you been to that new bakery that opened next to the cinema I heard their sourdough is quite good, but they sell out by mid-morning. I keep missing it because I get stuck in these morning meetings that could definitely just be an email. The other day we had a whole hour-long call about the font choice for a footer. A footer. So I was listening to this podcast about how they design public libraries to be more welcoming spaces. It was really interesting how they think about lighting and furniture placement to create different zones for quiet reading, group work, and just casual browsing. Made me want to go spend an afternoon at the central library. Have you been in there since they remodeled the second floor They have these amazing armchairs by the big windows. On a totally different note, I finally organized my desk at home. I had cables everywhere from all the gadgets and it was a mess. Found these little clips that stick under the desk to route everything neatly. Such a small thing but it makes the whole room feel more put together. What have you been reading lately I need a new book to start. Something not too heavy, maybe a good mystery or a travel memoir. I remember you recommended one a while back about someone hiking across a country. Was that Japan I should find my notes. The weather has been so c hangeable this week, sunny one minute and raining the next. My dog gets confused every time we go out and the ground is wet but the sun is shining. He just sniffs the air like he’s trying to figure it out. It’s pretty funny. I’m also trying to learn how to make proper soup from scratch. Not just opening a can, I mean really building flavor with a stock. My first attempt was okay but a bit bland. I think I didn’t simmer it long enough. Next time I’m going to try roasting the vegetables first. Do you have a good recipe Something with lentils maybe. I need to get back into the habit of meal planning on Sundays. It makes the week so much easier when you don’t have to think about what’s for dinner after work. I always end up making something quick and less interesting on those nights. Okay, I should probably get back to what I was supposed to be doing. Let me know if you want to grab a coffee sometime next week.
