McMaster has suggested to our US users to consider implementing FreeB as their primary billing module. OSCAR makes extensive use of XML-RPC (example is our implementation of drugref as our prescription web-service) and should be quite easy to integrate with FreeB. McMaster itself has had little interest in extending our outreach to the US. We are quite busy as it is. It's not our core mission to become like a vendor. Hope it clarifies things a bit... To support a local billing environment is more than being able to submit claims in a specified format.
I realize that. And I appreciate potential OSCAR suitability for local billing.
But my question was directed at any reason FreeB may be unsuitable for use outside the USA.
One of the objectives we set for ourselves is to make sure there is local programming support to maintain any future changes by the government
Might the use FreeB (or FreeB's approach) make this easier, in that a modification of the format file may achieve part (if not all) of what "changes" require? And within any one region, or as far as any given payer, wouldn't further benefits accrue where each of multiple EMRs had implemented FreeB?
BTW I had heard some time ago, off-list, that OSCAR was looking to implement FreeB, but have heard nothing further. -- Walter Alfonso Núnez Rivera Médico - Programador Pascual de Andagoya 140 Lima 32 Perú
