Words get moved to different lines because line breaks were inserted at the last space between words on a line before it would have gotten too wide. I need more vertical screen than horizontal, so that's where I put the task bar.
The rubber cover could be removed from the plastic shell, and I wrote the keys on a diskette label I stuck to the shell inder the cover. Even applications these days frequently self-check and notify you automatically when updates are available.
Internet Explorer will do something similar if you change the text size, but my experience is that it doesn't quite resize everything you'd want it to. The BIOS can also be used by the operating system to access hardware on your machine.
