Esta charla me hizo recordar el tema del VOIP....

...a las corporaciones no les interesan las soluciones "abiertas". SIP
es un protocolo VOIP  abierto: el cliente puede elegir qué hardware
comprar... o configurar su cuenta SIP con otro aparato.

En cambio con el PacketCable te tienen agarrado de las pelotas con el
cablemodem Motorola SBV5120, Motorola se convierte en "proveedor
exclusivo", y PierriNet (telecentro) no tiene que contratar a alguien
que sepa de SIP... le dan una "solucion enlatada"... entonces la pata
de telefonia de su "triple play"  no es SIP, sino PacketCable...

La triste realidad del mundo de los "negocios"...

Como siempre los yanquis (y en particulas Motorola, odio a esa empresa
y a las de tecnologia de cableTV en general) se cagan en los
estandares abiertos y usan los proprios... es una suerte que no
requieran que si queres Cablevision le compres el televisor a
Cablevision... si pudieran lo harian...

...el soft de Cedar Point que maneja el head-end de voz sobre IP que
usa Pierri viene con backdoor de fabrica, para interceptacion "legal"
de llamadas....

PD: En USA no te pueden dar de prepo un cablemodem de una marca
determinada, vos poder ir a un negocio comprar el cablemodem que se te
cante (para eso existen los estandares como DOCSIS 2.0 o 3.0, todos
los cablemodems son compatibles), y llamas al operador de cable, le
pasas la MAC ADDRESS y te lo tienen que autorizar.

O sea... HAY COMPETENCIA. Ac'a el aparato de cablemodem es un
monopolio de quien sea que contrate Pierri (Telecentro) o Clarin
(Fibertel/Multicanal). Por supuesto que Motorola agradecida...
