ce of communities based on collaborative production between equals. In the =

 member of the Open Knowledge Foundation and the Wikimedia Foundation.

Joan Subirats Humet is professor of Political Science at UAB and researcher=

a of Barcelona. His areas of research include public policy analysis, democ=

=80=9C La riqueza de las redes=E2=80=9D referencia mundial en los estudios =
de Internet y sociedad. Su obra analiza los modos en que las teconolog=C3=
=ADas de la informaci=C3=B3n posibilitan formas extensivas de colaboraci=C3=
=B3n que pueden tener consecuencias que transformen la econom=C3=ADa y la s=
ociedad.

El trabajo de investigaci=C3=B3n de Benkler se desarrolla en tres =C3=A1rea=
s conectadas. Por un lado, =E2=80=9C producci=C3=B3n entre iguales basada e=
n el bien com=C3=BAn=E2=80=9D tales como las iniciativas colaborativas del =
programario libre o Wikipedia que est=C3=A1 convirti=C3=A9ndose en el model=
o productivo emergente i de referencia. Por otro lado, introdujo el concept=
o espacio p=C3=BAblico en red, y analiza de que modo est=C3=A1 transformand=
o los procesos de pol=C3=ADticas p=C3=BAblicas y la movilizaci=C3=B3n pol=
=C3=ADtica.

Finalmente, es un experto en pol=C3=ADticas de Internet y en la arquitectur=
a de poder de las nuevas tecnolog=C3=ADas. A trav=C3=A9s de estas l=C3=ADne=
as de trabajo, explora la hip=C3=B3tesis de la emergencia de un tercer mode=
lo organizacional procom=C3=BAn, que romper=C3=ADa con el binomio Estado-me=
rcado, y favorece una mayor centralidad y empoderamiento de la sociedad civ=
il como agente.

A partir de estas claves de lectura, Benkler introducir=C3=A1 elementos par=
a comprender el cambio de =C3=A9poca en el Estado espa=C3=B1ol.

<p>El treball de recerca de Benkler es desenvolupa en tres =C3=A0rees conne=
ctades. D'una banda, &quot;producci=C3=B3 entre iguals basada en el b=C3=A9=
 com=C3=BA&quot; com les iniciatives col=C2=B7laboratives del programari ll=
iure o Viquip=C3=A8dia que est=C3=A0 convertint-se en el model productiu em=
ergent
 i de refer=C3=A8ncia. D'altra banda, va introduir el concepte d'espai p=C3=
=BAblic en xarxa, i analitza en quina mesura est=C3=A0 transformant els pro=
cessos de pol=C3=ADtiques p=C3=BAbliques i la mobilitzaci=C3=B3 pol=C3=ADti=
ca. Finalment, =C3=A9s un expert en pol=C3=ADtiques d'Internet i en l'arqui=
tectura
 de poder de les noves tecnologies. A trav=C3=A9s d'aquestes l=C3=ADnies de=
 treball explora la hip=C3=B2tesi de l'emerg=C3=A8ncia d'un tercer model or=
ganitzacional procomu, que vindria a trencar el binomi Estat - mercat, i af=
avoriria una major centralitat i empoderament de la
 societat civil com a agent.</p>
<p>A partir d'aquestes claus de lectura, Benkler incorporar=C3=A0 elements =
per entendre el canvi d'=C3=A8poca a l'Estat Espanyol.</p>

Yochai Benkler is a professor at the Faculty of Law and co-director of the =
Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. He is the au=
thor of the book - recently published by Icaria in Spanish - &quot;The Weal=
th of Networks&quot;, benchmark in Internet
 and society studies. His work examines the ways in which information techn=
ologies, allowing extensive forms of collaboration, can have transformative=
 consequences for the economy and society<br>
<br>
The Benkler's research is developed in three areas connected. On the one ha=
nd, &quot;peer production based on the common good&quot;, such as emerged i=
n collaborative initiatives like free software and Wikipedia, has been fram=
ed by Benkler as an emerging new model of
 production that can aspire to become a reference in information production=
. On the other hand, Benkler introduced the concept of networked public spa=
ce, and is analyzing to what extent is the new public sphere transforming p=
ublic policy and political mobilization.
 Finally, Benkler is an expert on Internet policy and architectures of new =
technologies. Through all these lines of work, Benkler explores the hypothe=
sis of the emergence of a third organizational model, the commons, which wo=
uld break the pairing state - market,
 and would favor greater centrality and empowerment of civil society as an =
agent.<br>
