build up one’s social profile'</b></i> This assumes the
continuation of a competitive society, where strategies for coping
with scarcity still dominate the economy. But scarcity (under
capitalism) is manufactured as a mindset, and as a physical reality,
in order to maintain value. In p2p relationships scarcity is not an
issue. It arises in authoritarian structures with the use of fear to
maintain the status quo. As authoritarian structures lessen in favour
of p2p, trust will emerge with shared values as a basic assumption.
Our fundamental humanity is collaborative and empathic. When bringing <i><b>the
maximum perceived added value in the exchanges </b></i><span style="font-style:normal"><span style="font-weight:normal">is
part of the intrinsic joy of following one's passion, and is
encouraged socially from birth, building up one's social profile will
be seen as an irrelevant anachronism from a past era. This may seem
idealistic, and a long way off, but I think it can happen sooner than
we think. Indeed it is a prerequisite to the shift in consciousness
needed for our survival as a human race.</span></span></p>
