There are some things in the works such as StratML<1>,<2> and the Provenance Incubator Group at the W3C <3>,<4> that strive to iron out inefficiencies. There is also the EU's growth strategy called Europe 2020 <5> to improve research, education and job growth. They appear willing to think differently. And of course many other things. The future should be interesting, to say the least.<br>

My experience is that more and more people understand what it is about though.
