      <div>Hi Michel, Franz, &amp; Georg,</div>
      <div>Greetings Andreas Laurent &amp; Tim,</div>
      <div><br>
      </div>
      Usually a barter currency is mutual credit, which means it isn't
      backed by assets.
      <div>A currency which is backed by assets is a commodity currency.
        You can only issue as much money as you have have assets.</div>
      <div>Or some arbitrary multiple thereof!</div>
      <div>So I would question the use of the expression 'barter
        currency' here.</div>
    </blockquote>
    Yes, it sounds to me that you are right on that - as I said in my
    last reply, my wife and I have been working on this, in German, so
    my fluency with the right english terms is certainly lacking. I had
    assumed that "barter" referred to the haggling part (-: In the case
    of the GROK "we" do not issue currency anyway, there is no central
    authority. Rather, the citizens themselves "create" the units of
    currency as and only when required by going overdrawn, up to their
    asset-backed credit limit. The credit limit is by design only about
    80% of the deposited value, leaving enough backing to pay the
    circulation safeguard fee for a number of years. The system has
    misuse "designed out" as much as possible.<br>
    <br>
    If people are interested in this topic I suggest signing up for the
    Newsletter, to allow me to condense things down and avoid too many
    interruptions.<br>
