"I've read most of Reich's work that's in print and consider him a world-class philosopher, psychoanalyst, and experimental psychologist. He did some of the first lab research on sex. I part ways with him on Orgone energy, however. Much of the sexual/biological energy Reich observed is in fact neurochemically produced and conducted. Orgone theory is largely superfluous. Many of his speculations were not irrational but neither were they borne out. Some of his questions about biological energy are still unanswered and deserve to be researched. He was a genius who got over excited about a particular line of inquiry and his judgment suffered.
On the other hand, his "Mass Psychology of Fascism" deserves to be read by every psychologist, social/political scientist, and all students of human nature and the human condition.
