<p>Developmental psychologists classify infants into three basic temperaments, in part by their response to strangers and strange situations. Type As are slow to react and easily overstimulated, which causes them to withdraw. Type Bs are
eager to explore and quick to adjust to new circumstances. Type Cs are highly reactive to change, usually with loud protests. These types, observable at just a few months old, can persist into adulthood.
