Hi Michel, How are you? I have some news for you: here in Pavia the student movment occupied last Friday an abandoned building (belonging to the University) to create a space of mutual aid for students and precarious workers. The idea is to create a copypoint, a library, a self-organized college to give housing to students and precarious workers, a centre for free culture and autonomous research and many other things; in other words, the aim is to build an autonomous welfare experience organized by students and workers for students and workers. <br>
Now we have written this call to support the project (since the University threaten to call the police to chase us away) and we are asking researchers across Italy and Europe to subscribe it.<br>Here I attached the french version (the english one is still to be written). Would you like to subscribe it and spread among your networks please?<br>

<br>L'appel : Pour le nouvel espace de diffusion du savoir libre à Pavia (Italie)<br>Le dernier processus de réforme de enseignement supérieur qui a eu lieu en Italie et qui a vu descendre dans la rue des milliers d'étudiants et de chercheurs qui s'y opposaient, a contribué a empirer la situation, déjà difficile, de ceux qui travaillent dans le monde de la recherche.<br>
On soutient l'action du mouvement étudiant de Pavia qui, à travers l'occupation d'un espace abandonné et qui appartient à l'Université, est en train de constituer un parcours d'autoformation visant à produire du sens critique et de contester l'actuel système universitaire capable uniquement de produire des connaissances de routine incapable de former des esprits critiques.<br>
Contre l'externalisation des services et la tendance, de plus en plus forte, à la redéfinition du droit d'étudier dans un sens de privatisation, les étudiants de Pavia se mobilisent pour construire une expérience de secours mutuel qui nous apparaît nécessaire, étant donnée la condition de précarité qui touche une partie des couches de notre société.<br>
Il est donc important, vis-à-vis du rettorat de l'Université de Pavia obtenir les soutiens du monde de la recherche des autres pays.
