[P2P-F] Rebuilding the Internet

ChiHackNight <http://chihacknight.org/> is one of the premier civic tech
meetups in the USA. Subsequent to the recent FCC rulings that abolish net
neutrality, a group of us are looking into what it would take to rebuild
the Internet.  We found the chapter from  The Organic Internet: Building
Communications Networks from the Grassroots by Panayotis Antoniadis

We're looking at what prevents this (capitalistic oligarchies that lobby,
set policy, lock smaller players out, etc.) as well as examples of
alternatives that are working.

I'm seeking examples of first/last mile, small ISP, municipal and
cooperatives that have succeeded or failed. Please forward your contacts,
sites and lists.
