*REBEL CITIES* is a collection of theoretical texts from architects from
all corners of the world who share one conviction: that the paradigm of
functionalism, the source of the 20th century dogma of the unlimited
exploitation of resources and authoritarian planning practices, has
had its day.
This linking of progress with productivity has seriously unbalanced the
fair division of urban and natural resources on our planet.

*REBEL CITIES*
raises the question of how to imagine a more emancipating and reflective
way of living our planet?

*REBEL CITIES*
proposes participatory design processes based on the collective memory and the
individual engagement of citizens.
