RE:PUBLICA 2016

re:publica is Europe’s largest and most prominent conference on the future
of society and all things digital. The annual event attracts over 7,000
participants but has preserved an open and familiar atmosphere, a
high-level conference with a festival feel. In 2016, re:publica will take
place in Berlin, Germany, from May 2th to May 4th. Unlike other conferences
which focus on social media marketing and the usual “show and tell” of
tools and projects, re:publica aims to bring together the leading thinkers
of our time with activists and a range of communities to share experiences.

CALL FOR PAPERS

This year's call for papers is open until January 10th. We are looking for
creative, engaging and quality submissions for our 2016 program. If you
wish to contribute and be part of re:publica then please take part in our
call for papers:

http://re-publica.de/en/call-papers

Participating in the call does not require submitting a scientific
proposal. You can fill out our online template which asks for your topic, a
brief description of the session, the format (präsentation, discussion,
workshop or action) as well as some information about you (name and
previous experience).

TOPICS

This year's motto is TEN as we celebrate 10 years of re:publica:
https://re-publica.de/en/motto. re:publica TEN will address the cultural,
economic and political digital development of the past ten years, examine
our current state of living and look ahead at what the future will bring
each and every one of us. We look forward to receiving submissions matching
this celebratory motto, but not only.

re:publica focuses on the impact of digitization and new media on society.
Main topics include the role of new media for political communication and
protest, changing media landscapes and trends in journalism, DIY-cultures
and net political topics such as privacy, open data, open licensing, and
Internet infrastructure and security. For an impression of the range of our
talks and topics, see last year’s programme
