Financial Report August 2015

Dear Robin Hood Member,

You may have noticed that within the last two weeks our portfolio has
decreased in value 13% (from $756,594.56 to $656,272.62). The markets are
very nervous as we have not seen this type of down movements for many years.
This is what our algorithm has been telling us to do:

About a month ago our algorithm started having difficulties in finding new
good investment opportunities. We interpreted it as a sign to get out of
some of our riskier positions, and bought more of the less volatile stocks,
such as Microsoft. Our risk metrics from the beginning of the year are:
Sharpe ratio 0.70, Sortino ratio 4.44, and Calmar ratio 1.42.

There has also been some short hedge fund attacks and one of our positions,
https://anfi.com/, became a victim of that. Anfi is not a US company, and
it has been a bit slow defending itself. The media has further complicated
the situation with headlines talking about fraud.

In general, we are holding on and waiting for a bounce back of the markets.
That is what the best actors on the market are now doing. In addition, they
are taking advantage of the situation and loading more stocks to their
positions. They are especially interested in the US market companies. Our
algorithm is telling us to follow. The best companies, which the algorithm
has picked earlier are still the most prospective stocks, and in the
algorithm’s interpretation the best place for our money. Sooner or later
the market will put the right valuation on them.

The algorithm has tested well in historical situations like this. Now is
the time to keep our cool. The next month’s investment series could easily
become our best performing series when the markets bounce back.
