I think it is important to know, that the initiator, MEP Raul Romeva
(Catalunya) will leave the Parliament - he could be an important ally for
commons movements in Europe in the future.

Press conference: Launch of Manifesto for the Commons in the European Union


Tuesday, 18th March. 12hs

ASP 5G2

During the 7th European parliamentary term, many debates took place
concerning common goods, particularly given the first successful European
Citizens Initiative, Right2Water. The commons are universal, they belong to
everyone and they must not be appropriated by authorities and/or private
interests. European Institutions, as guarantee for civil and fundamental
liberties, for peace, for cultural diversity and for the preeminence of
right, have to assure the respect and the care for the commons.  Therefore,
tomorrow at noon we launch a Manifesto on Commons, calling on a permanent
formal intergroup in the European Parliament for the next term to work on
common goods and give them legal status. There, the Manifesto will be
distributed in different languages (IT, ES, EN, FR, GR, DE)


On top, we will count with the special participation of Ms Anne LeStrat,
President of Eau de Paris and Aqua Publica Europea, and Mr. René Fernández
Revollo, Ambassador of  Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia in front of the EU.
