Hello all

I am writting to you because you all had been critics of the copyright laws
and their unintended bad effects. you all are people that can reach others
to support us, sorry to bother on a weekend, but do read this when you have
a couple of minutes please.

You know me somehow and know that Karisma works in Colombia and Latin
America on issues of Open Access and on the promotion of human rights in
the digital environment, this time I am asking you to look at this
Colombian case that is related to our activism

I will like to draw your attention to this case in Colombia where a biology
student is facing a criminal process after sharing in 2011 on the Internet
a Master Thesis written by another Colombian biologist (without asking for
permission). We believe this case is an evidence of exagerated criminal
copyright laws and also an evidence of the need to rethink the way that
science circulates, I can give more information to those of you that might
be interested
