Hello Michel!
Nice talking to you!
Conexões Globais (Global Connections), is a conference which looks to
promote debates and experience exchange related to internet democracy,
social mobilization in the internet era, surveillance on the internet,
communication and freedom of speech.
This is the third edition of this conference which will be held in Porto
Alegre, Brazil, in the 24th and 25th of January, 2014. The event will
feature six debates, with national and international guests interacting in
conversations in person or by videoconference. The whole schedule will be
broadcast live by the website http://www.conexoesglobais.com.br/
The debate "collaborative and digital culture" is about how the internet
has enabled increasingly decentralized and collaborative actions beyond the
higly centralized and stereotyped traditional cultural industry. In the
last 15 years, Brazil is experiencing profound changes in terms of cultural
production. Circuits have been formed and disclosed a profound Brazil, both
traditional and innovative, young, urban, suburban, rural, connected and
diverse, which qualifies the idea of citizenship, reveals new aesthetic and
economic possibilities, and give visibility to brazilian cultural
diversity. Parallel to this there is increasing coordination between
activists from the world of communications, human rights, mobility etc that
culture is a central element articulator.
The guests are:
Eduardo Balan - argentine educator and communicator
Giuseppe Cocco - Teacher at UFRJ (Brazil)
Gustavo Anitelli - sociologist and cultural producer (Brazil)
Pablo Capilé - articulator of Fora do Eixo (Brazil)
Teivo Teivainen - teacher at Helsinki University and UERJ - Brazil (Finland)
Each guest will have 10 minutes for their lecture. Thereafter, the mediator
and the public can ask questions. The debate has 1h30 min.
And yes, it will be at 11am in Quito. I just need to call you 15 minutes
earlier to check if it´s everything ok.
I will call you in skype tomorrow, ok?
Any doubt you can ask me.
Thanks a lot!
Gabi
