Will check it out-asking that you read the Lifeboat article on why the poor
shouldn't be helped. Policies that look great in the immediate & short-run
often turn to disaster as time perspectives & unintended consequences aren't
even considered. Logic trumps altruism

Hello Natalie,

Dont know if you are suggesting that Hardins' work trumps the commons but
'the tragedy' has been proved to be void when looking at many real life
commons. Not all commons are immune to tradegy but some most definately
are. Ostroms work has been a big part in disproving 'tradegy'.

See also 'the comedy of the commons'

Best
Darren

Haven’t posted in a long time...Suggest you & P2P “people” familiarize
yourselves with Garrett Hardin’s work. He died, but you can GOOGLE the
Garrett Hardin Society. Maybe start with The Tragedy of the Commons.
