C2C Fellows / National Climate Seminar / Bard 7.12.12
Dear friends and colleagues,
It’s hot. It’s going to get hotter. And despite the politics of the moment, extreme weather will eventually drive a national consensus on climate action. In the meantime:
Bard CEP’s National Climate Seminar provides a regular source of current information and engagement-- twice monthly interviews with top climate scientists, political leaders, economists, artists, advocates, and policymakers. Join us live or listen afterwards online.
This fall, we will hear from green business pioneer Hunter Lovins on Rio +20; U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders on Climate Politics*; RFF economist Dallas Burtraw on the future of the CAA; Center for Biodiversity and Conservation scientist Dr. Eleanor Sterling on Climate & Biodiversity; and Climate Solutions KC Golden on Coal Exports. See below or visit our website for the complete listing of speakers and dates.
CEP is also sponsoring five C2C Fellows weekend training workshops for aspiring sustainability leaders in business and public policy. These trainings focus on skills development, including fund-raising and communication. Graduates of the weekend workshops are eligible for scholarships to CEP’s masters programs in environmental policy, climate science and policy, and green business, as well as $1,000 scholarships for follow-on leadership trainings. Students can apply now: the cost of the weekend trainings is $30 including food and lodging. Please pass the word along!
