IMO the Tea Party isn't one monolithic thing. It's got as many
strands as OWS (which ranges from left-wing anarchists to progressive
Coffee Party types who just want to promote Obama's jobs program). I
don't have any use for the sort who cheer on waterboarding or who are
unwitting shills for the agenda of Dick Armey and Rick Scott. But
that leaves a lot of other people who were attracted to the movement
out of a general sense they were getting screwed, antipathy toward
Wall Stree bailouts, etc. There's certainly room for dialogue.
