My evolving project online offers a very powerful new way of thinking known as Transfinancial Economics that is slowly gaining some credence. But it requires a paradigm shift in understanding. 
TFE goes beyond the Tobin Tax which is unnecessary when sufficient new non-repayable money (essentially electronic data in the main) could be created electronically, and responsibly at the press of the button via a transparent, and credible funding mechanism. Socially unacceptable? No, if huge socio-economic, and environmentally unsustainable issues are at stake...Funny money? No, banks create it ex nihilo already but as repayable loans irrespective of whether they are largely backed up, or not.....
