Well, that was the point Spanish blogger Enrique Dans made yesterday
on a posthttp://www.enriquedans.com/2011/03/geracao-a-rasca-portugal-despierta.html.
He tried to send the message that youth in there is wasting its time
drinking booze in the streets while down here we have started to do
something by our means. But personally I don't agree very much with
that reading because Spain has a precedent in the 13-M demonstration
in Madrid against Aznar's government, two days after the Atocha
bombings in Madrid (March 11, 2004). It is generally considered the
first big rally convoked via SMS, in a truly flashmob-style. And it
was effective in the way that PP (the current ruling party at the
time) lost the day after's elections to PSOE (the Socialist Party).

So, I think there isn't any reason for something like that - but this
time even more outside parliamentary politics - to happen again in
Spain :)
