"An amendment to require Emergency Managers to hold monthly public
meetings to let people know how they are governing was rejected by
Senate Republicans, along with proposals to cap Emergency Manager
compensation and require that those appointed to run school districts
have some background in education."

No public oversight, no education qualifications needed, no cap on compensation.

Although the attention has been on Wisconsin, this action here in
Michigan is even more draconian, unconstitutional, and the most
undemocratic law ever proposed and passed in Michigan.

As bad as this is, we are seeing it here as an opportunity to build a
permanent platform for p2p political advocacy here in Michigan and in
Wisconsin if people are interested there. We'll keep you updated.
