This is semi-main stream news, although it should be "front and
center" and talked about everywhere. Essentially the U.S. has now
created the legal framework for a secret police force - that involves
the highest levels of the military - secret rendition, Gitmo, torture,
etc. This is very, very worrisome.  John Robb has some interesting
things to say about it, and lists this as evidence that the U.S. is
rapidly becoming a Hallow State:
