Claro!! El DVDauthor es una app para consola, o de bakcground (como se 
le suele decir).

Por eso te da las distintas opciones para que "lances" el comando 
correspondiente.

Ahora te pregunto ... Cual es tu inquietud? Hacer un DVD?
O que cosa específicamente?

Comentame, tal vez puedas utilizar otro soft, o alguna indicacion que 
necesites si no la se te ayudo a buscar en google
