QUE DELIRIO TODO ESO!!!!!!!!!!!!! debe ser por esa falla en
update-grub
nunca vi algo así.
Poné esto antes que nada (o sea, debajo de
splashimage=(hd0,4)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz), y fijate si funca:
