Fine, that's the idea behind Musix and other GNU/Linux distros: to replace all 
the private (depriving) software.

I guess you mean, to record from an audio input

Firewire drivers are in development state (freebob project), so, I would not 
buy some of theses devices for now

This one could work: you could try it by booting Musix into a machine. But, I 
know that M-Audio PCI products works fine with GNU/Linux
