Hi,
I am very glad to mail you.
I want o include linuxsampler into Musix GNU+Linux 0.39, a
non-comercial GNU+Linux distribution, but, I think that you know that
GPL licenced apps allows comercial use of the software, so:
Why did you licenced it like that?
http://www.linuxsampler.org/downloads.html
" License
LinuxSampler is licensed under the GNU GPL license with the exception
that
COMMERCIAL USE of the souce code, libraries and applications is
NOT ALLOWED without prior written permission by the LinuxSampler
authors.
If you have questions on the subject please contact us."
Any people could sell GNU+Linux CDs with your linuxsampler software if
you licence it under GNU GPL so, why would I need to mail you to
allow me the comercial use of linuxsampler?
I think that there's a misunderstanding here: as far as I know, the GNU
GPL licence allows (warrant) comercial distribution of any software, so
you can not licence it under GPL if you will say that you do not agree
with this GPL statement.
.GIG format Sound Samples are the best in the world of samples, so the
Free Software Community could benefit a lot if we could use them with
all the guarantees that the GPL licence gives to us.
Please: clarify the licence statement so any GNU+Linux distro could
include your fabulous & professional true GPL linuxsampler software.
