Hi all
As Panos and I slowly (very slowly, with help from Peter) make our way through uploading the final jopp issue on TRANSITION I procrastinate by raising the issue of "how come there is no page on the JoPP in Wikipedia?"
The responses may range from the philosophical (why should there be? is it notable?) to the practical (no reliable sources, buddy). Well as for the first - why not? Since we are wrapping up, we need to preserve the legacy. And as for sources, we now have at least one rock-solid ref. (that I know of): George Dafermos' chapter on "Prophets and advocates" which deals with the journal's origins and impact. In the HoPP, which is a VERY legitimate source.
Chapter 7 is available here btw: http://peerproduction.net/projects/books/the-handbook-of-peer-production/
As I have a direct stake I don't think I should initiate this but if anyone is interested or wants to help - any Wikipedians in good standing out there? - I'd be happy to provide ideas around content etc.
Please respond here or offlist if you prefer.
cheers
Mathieu
