Why does evil-insert-digraph take a COUNT argument?

Hi all,

I wonder why evil-insert-digraph (usually bound to ^K in insert mode)
takes a number COUNT as its first argument. That requires entering ^K
NUMBER CHAR1 CHAR2, which is different from vim. Isn't it possible to
make evil-insert-digraph accept an optional numeric prefix, as other
Emacs functions do?

Cheers,

Christoph
