No it doesn't help. Deleting or moving
"viper-normalize-minor-mode-map-alist" to .emacs still gives the same
error as before:
"wrong-type argument: symbolp, (my-get-emulation-keymap)"

However, I am using the ubuntu snapshot, the date of the checkout
being 20081013. So maybe it's not the exact same version as Gu's.
