Possibility Studies is a trans-disciplinary, emergent area of study that
concerns itself with how we, as individuals and societies, become aware
of, explore and enact (or choose not to enact) what is possible. It
brings together a variety of existing literatures and forms of practice
centred around agency, imagination, creativity, serendipity, wonder,
counterfactual thinking, anticipation, utopias and dystopias, among others.

.

The conference will feature distinguished keynotes from across social
sciences and the humanities, including the special participation of
*Prof. Robert Sternberg *(Cornell University, USA), a leading author on
intelligence, creativity, and wisdom, and *Prof. Kenneth
Gergen*(Swarthmore College, USA), who made significant contributions to
social constructionism, narratives, and the self. They will be joined by
*Prof. Ron Beghetto *(Arizona State University, USA), *Prof. Roni
Reiter-Palmon*(University of Nebraska at Omaha, USA), *Prof. Kim
Wilkins*(University of Queensland, Australia) and *Prof. Barbara
Kerr*(University of Kansas, USA), Prof. *Thomas C. Ormerod*(University
of Sussex, UK) and by Irish colleagues who made seminal contributions in
the area of reimagining higher education, *Prof. Rebecca Braun
*(University of Galway) and *Dr. Ciaran Dunne*(Dublin City University).
The Young Scholar Keynote will be offered by *Luciana Dantas de
Paula*(University of Brasilia, Brazil).

.

The *call for submissions**is now open*. We invite contributions from
across disciplines in the form of oral presentations, symposia and short
/ lightning talks.
