Dear Friends,

Please take a look at two new articles on RED on decentralized governance.

Neema Pathak Broome, Srishti Bajpai and Mukesh Shinde analyze the
weaknesses of the government introduced decentralized governance
initiatives in India, and contrast them with the success of a grass-roots
program in the state of Maharashtra - a worthy template for replication
elsewhere in the country.

In the second article Neema Pathak Broome joins Akshay Chettri to discuss
how enduring traditions and modern socio-political strategies are coming
together to help the Van Gujjars, a community of migratory herders,
negotiate contemporary challenges of governance.

Hope you find them of interest, and if so then please share them with your
networks.

Best,

Pallav
