Dear Ashis,
Trust you are all doing well and staying safe, please take care. Please
see below an email from our colleague and friends which is self
explanatory. Please see whether some one can use this opportunity,
retards, Stanley
Dear Colleagues,
over the next 4 years, the DAAD will fund the ABCD-Centre for Global
Water and Climate Adaptation
<https://www.daad.de/en/the-daad/communication-publications/press/press_releases/globale-zentren-fuer-klima-und-gesundheit/>,
in which RWTH and IIT Madras are involved. The center fosters a young
generation of globally oriented environmental specialists. Equipped
with international research, management and communication skills, even
entry-level professionals will have a significant impact on the
increasingly important field of climate adaptation.
The Centre facilitates careers in the fields of water security and
climate adaptation. A master's degree program on "Water Security and
Global Change" and a joint doctoral program are being established in
Aachen, Bangkok, Chennai and Dresden (ABCD), in addition to dialogue
formats for young scholars.
Graduates of Theology will thus have interesting options for further
academic qualification, for example with the goal of a doctorate in the
field of Climate Ethics and Development. The Centre does not provide
full stipends, but offers a Start-up phase for project design
and scholarship application in Germany.
The Aachen Institute for Theology is part of the Cluster 3 "Transfer
Strategies for Climate Adaptation". It regularly offers the M.A.-Programm
Theology and Global Development (Theologie und Globale Entwicklung)
<https://www.rwth-aachen.de/cms/root/Studium/Vor-dem-Studium/Studiengaenge/Liste-Aktuelle-Studiengaenge/Studiengangbeschreibung/~euzn/Theologie-und-Globale-Entwicklung-M-A/> in
German language and conducts research in Theology and Technology.
Kind regards,
Axel Siegemund

Dear Global Tapestry,
I work for Picture Zero, a UK production company that specialises in
telling human climate change stories. We’re currently working with
the Mock COP team to produce a series of short films called My
Climate Reality, highlighting the voices of young people at the
frontline of the climate crisis. The films will be released around
COP26 in November, and we hope they will have a powerful impact on
UN Leaders and other influential stakeholders.
We are now casting for the people and stories to feature in our
films, and the Mock COP team recommended I contact your
organisation. We’d love your help spreading the word as far and wide
as possible! Specifically, we are looking for young people (Under
30) who are living on the frontline of the climate crisis, and whose
daily reality is impacted by climate change. This could be somewhere
with dramatic visual changes (sea level rises, fires, floods) or
more surprising and subtle changes.
If you agree that this project might be relevant to your network
we’d be very grateful if you could share our casting call out via
one or all of the below:
1.
Share our casting flyer (attached, and also copied below) - eg
added to a newsletter or sent round a mailing list
2.
Share the link to our webpage - https://t.co/ldZHbIEg9t?amp=1

which communities and networks we’ve reached.
Thank you very much,
Matilda

MY CLIMATE REALITY
VR Project
We want to share your story with UN Leaders to highlight urgent
action needed on climate change.
We are casting for young people (Under 30) who are living on the
front line of the climate crisis, and whose daily reality is
impacted by climate change. This could be somewhere with dramatic
visual changes (sea level rises, fires, floods) or more surprising
and subtle changes.
If your daily life and community has been impacted, and you have a
personal story to tell about where you live and why it’s important
to you, we would love to hear from you. Where possible, please make
submissions in English language. However, if this is not possible,
we still welcome applications in other languages.
Please contact matilda at picturezero.com
<mailto:matilda at picturezero.com> and send BOTH:
1.
A video recording of yourself (no longer than 2 minutes) AND
2.
A short-written statement (between 100-1000 words)
Submission deadline 4 June 2021.
Some notes on submissions:
There is no ‘fixed format’ – we really just want to hear your story
and get to know you a bit. However, as a guide, feel free to use the
format below. Please tell us:
1.
Who you are
2.
Where you live
3.
A story about something that is important to you about where you
live
4.
How where you live has changed due to climate change
If you have time, please tell us:
*
What life was like before these effects took hold (this could
during your life, or by reference to your parents or
grandparents or other family/friends)
*
What your daily life is like now (do you have to do anything
differently?)
*
What you expect your life there to be like in 30 years time.
*
How your friends and family have been impacted
*
Please share any personal stories – feel free to be as specific
and personal as possible
