The UP CIDS Program on Alternative Development (UP CIDS AltDev) stands in
solidarity with the Konfederasi Pergerakan Rakyat Indonesia (KPRI), the
Serikat Petani Pasundan (SPP), and all the Indonesian peoples in their
struggle against this repressive policy that is seen as a push among
Indonesia’s oligarchs for their political and economic interest and that of
corporations.

Indonesian grassroots movements have organized a three-day national protest
against the Omnibus Law on Job Creation that the Indonesian lawmakers
abruptly passed without sufficient public consultation. Since the passage
of this law on October 5, a series of demonstrations were held despite the
rising COVID-19 cases in the country and government restriction on social
gatherings.

KPRI and SPP, which are grassroots regional partners of AltDev, led their
respective constituents in this 3-day protest and in calling for support to
expose the adverse implications of the Omnibus Law.

they innate in the mind? No. They come from social practice and from it
alone."
