<span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">I don't understand the high rating for this place. I really wanted to like ono seafood and I was really looking forward to it but I can't get over the fact that they use like chinese long grain rice. At first I thought it was a mistake and thought maybe for some absurd reason, they ran out of short grain rice (which is typically served with poke) and had to switch to long grain rice (I would have no idea why). However after reading other reviews, apparently long grain rice is their rice of choice. I'm sorry, I'm all for being unique and trying something different but let's be real here... poke, which is influenced by the Japanese/sushi, does not go well on chinese long grain rice. The texture is completely different and it doesn't have the same taste as Japanese short grain rice.

So Ono Seafood has variations of ahi and tako poke. I ordered the shoyu ahi poke and I added a second poke flavor.. spicy ahi. Worst decision ever. I typically love spicy ahi poke but I feel like I tasted a hint of wasabi/horseradish in this one. I love spicy food, but wasabi is definitely an exception. I wouldn't have ordered it and just stuck to the shoyu ahi if I had known that it would taste that way. It's not your typical sriracha mayo flavor that you're expecting. I can appreciate that they are spicing it up with wasabi, but it just wasn't for me. I really did like the shoyu ahi poke... I think I would have thought differently of this place if I just got the shoyu ahi poke... and brought my own Japanese short grain rice to eat it with.fa136e57392093479095a5a40f033715
