<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">So after all the hype about this place, I was SUPER excited that two friends decided to celebrate their birthdays here. We pulled up, parked for free on the side street since it was past 10pm and walked in to a kind of empty bar. Apparently the music was hopping in the backyard, and we had just missed the live jazz band inside. That's ok, I figured. Next time.
Then, the drink-issue began. One of the birthday boys requested a mojito. Too sweet. He asked them to change it, and being that it was his birthday, it's his prerogative. The next one came out on the opposite end of the spectrum. Instead of apologizing for the lackluster mixology skills, the waitress decided to proclaim the birthday boy just wasn't 'cuban' and declared that he doesn't know what a mojito should taste like. Ummmm, he's Cuban missy. The problem isn't the consumer, it's the bartender. And the attitude of the waitress.
I was lucky (hence the second star) and went with the safe bet of the Pastelito drink. It was yummy, even though it was missing the decorative edible pastry. The Ca??ita was...like sugarcane water with a splash of lime. And the other drinks ordered all came out just plain wrong. What. A. Disappointment.
Then there's the food. I get that it's tapas. However when everything is just fried food, at $8 a pop and it's served in tiny portions because it's 'tapas', then it's just a good ol' fashion ripoff. A yummy ripoff, but a rip off nonetheless..fa136e57392093479095a5a40f033715
