<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">We enjoyed exploring North End (including a stop at Mike's Pastry), then we were called after exactly an hour had passed. When we arrived back at Neptune Oyster, our table was ready and we were seated immediately. We were seated at the end of a six-person table which was occupied by four guys. We were in such close proximity to them that it almost felt awkward to have any other conversation. We could hear everything they said; we were all at the same table, after all! In the end, the guys ended up just including us in their conversation for the rest of our meal, including inviting us to add our phones to their pile. It ended up enhancing the meal, making it more fun, but it could have been really awkward. This was supposed to be a "sister date," but there's nothing at all intimate about dining at Neptune Oyster.
I'm a recent college grad and my sister is a college student, so we ended up deciding to split the lobster roll. We were nervous our waiter wouldn't allow it or make us feel guilty, but he was totally understanding about it. We ordered it hot with butter. They cut it in half, gave us two plates, and two ketchup containers. That was very thoughtful! There was also no extra cost for splitting the plate. The lobster was VERY fresh and slightly stringy. I got a little piece of lobster stuck in my teeth at some point. It was perfect hot with the butter, although I'm interested what the cold mayo tastes like (maybe if I ever have it during the hotter months). The fries were good, but a little salty for my liking--nothing special. The lobster roll was the clear standout.
There isn't enough space to wait by the bathroom with servers going from behind the bar to the kitchen, etc. I tried to wait, but then ended up waiting at the table while keeping my eye on the bathroom door.fa136e57392093479095a5a40f033715
