I don't know if this is characteristic of their Sunday afternoons, but the place wasn't super packed and we had no issues being seated immediately as a party of 2. Either way, no complaints from me. The restaurant had a very traditional Japanese feel, with simple furniture and the waiters and chefs yelling instructions at each other. Chaotic, but super fun. The music was a bit out of place (it was a blend of trance and hip-hop), but we just went with it.
The two of us split a few small plates, and then each got their shogayaki lunch set. Service is on the slower side, but the wait is worth it.The takoyaki was absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth--it definitely ranks among the best I've had--and the okonomiyaki had that perfect crunch to it. We rounded off the procession of small plates with an order of the ebi yuba, which had a great sauce to accompany it.
