The Moth are just the beginning for the Design District! (Oh, and FYI, the map here on Yelp is WAY off. The Moth is on Oak Lawn, on the southern side of Stemmons. If you're heading south on Oak Lawn, cross under 35 and it will be almost immediately on your right.) This place is a beer nerd paradise! The beer selection is phenomenal and its super close to Southwestern where I work in the design district. The share plates are really good as well with every dish going well with BEER and I'm pretty sure anything else you might be drinking. I went here on a bro date with some science nerds from work and we loved it. All the craft brews you can think of are available except they are on draft! I can't wait until the cask ale selection expands this place will be my regular spot for an after work drink. The food was also out of the ordinary and very good. The prices were really reasonable as well all the drafts were $5-6 except for the guest draughts which were a little more but well worth it. Definitely check this new place out if you are a beer fan. Went to "The Moth" in the Design District a couple times over a couple days while visiting Dallas, once for happy hour, another time for lunch. It's a beautiful space with a long, bar where the beer taps clearly take center stage. Bar service was quick and polite. The selection, both on tap and in bottles, was excellent. At HH we had the fried hominy app, which was just ok - it was missing something like an aioli or something and was unexpectedly spicy. Lunch the next day was a little better, but missed on a couple points. Two of our party ordered the pot pie and thought it was just so-so. I could tell looking at them put it together in the open kitchen that it was more like stew served in a bowl with a pastry shell placed on top than a true pot pie. My bangers and mash was actually pretty good, but I found the portion size to be a little small. Also, our server was kind of detached. The fact that they serve sodas out of small bottles is also annoying - get a fountain! Overall, an ok, experience, but pretty darn good if you want a beer for happy hour. I had been here for drinks, but not for food, so the beau and I decided to test-drive it on Christmas Eve Eve night. Meh. It was good, but definitely not a place I'd crave to go back over and over again (like Chipotle.... sorry, I have a problem). The beer selection is a brew-lover's dream and tempts you to stay there trying each and every one. And their famous dishes, like shrimp and grits, completely live up to expectations. It's just that the food choices aren't standard enough to have you thinking "I don't what I'll do if I don't get to eat the ahi skewers at least twice a month," ya know? That's its only downfall. Besides that, it's a friggin' awesome place to take a group, guzzle deliciously awesome and interesting beer, and people watch. Had lunch here earlier in the week...it was business and there were five in the group. The good--our waiter was very attentive, and knew the menu
