very well. I can't comment on the rest of the group, because we were really focused on the meeting and not the food...that being said, I was underwhelmed. I didn't order one of the trendy, over the top entrees...just simple fish and chips. I was in the mood and it sounded good. Unfortunately, what I thought was a very simple dish was really disappointing. The fries were cold and soggy. The fish was limp and the coating was also soggy. Maybe I like my fish and chips different than most folks, but I want hot and crispy french fries and fish that has a flavorful crispy batter. They might prepare a killer quail and kale or some other similarly creative combination...but if you want something simple...I'd go elsewhere. Pretty disappointing given the reputation and the price. I, too, wanted to see what the hubbub was about this place, so I took my wife and daughter (in for the weekend) to try it out. I confess I'm not a serious beer-drinker, more like an eager amateur whose palate tends toward Mexican-style beers. I was raised on Coors and Bud and would occasionally upgrade to Michelob to show my independence. Of course, while In college, I drank whatever was cheapest -- Hello Old Milwaukee! We thought we'd try one of their flights ($12.00) chosen by Captain (I forget). Of the five 5oz. beers that arrived, we were only able to finish one of them happily. That was a Belgian Ale. Another one we finished only reluctantly, and we left the other three of them alone after the first sips. Undrinkable! I know they must have some beers we'd like what with such a huge selection and all, but we should have chosen ourselves instead of putting our fate in the Captain's hands. (Normally, I would have thought the waitress would have noticed we didn't drink most of our flight and inquired as to why we didn't like our beers, but she didn't. I would have been glad to try something else). Now as to the food. Be warned, they have a VERY small lunch menu. My daughter had the Moules Frites (mussels and french fries). She loved the mussels because of their freshness and their white wine, lemon and thyme laden sauce. She didn't like the fries, though, because they were limp and thinnish. She likes her french fries crispy on the outside, as do I. I had Shrimp and grits, which tasted like polenta to me, served in a creamy sauce that I would have liked to swim in. It was that good. I did think the place was a bit pricey, but then I'm from the boon-docks of Arlington, so I'm no judge of Dallas restaurant standards. The decor was interesting with several unique Dallas items that are described in detail on their menu. For example, the have the stained glass windows from the closed Dallas Hard Rock Cafe. The floor was the showroom tiles from the tile store that formerly occupied the place. Dark woods on the walls. Very nicely done. Even the bathrooms would have made Home Beautiful. Next time I come, I'll either talk to the bartender to help me select a beer I'll come closer to liking, or bring along a beer connoisseur to help me out. well this place is deffinatley A+ for the atmosphere and bar food like zuchinni chips and fish and chips.
If you have someone that is not 21 or you are not 21 i would NOT waste the money here because the food is not very good. started off with the hummus and that was acctually suprisingly delish. Then had some ahi tuna scewers with a ginger soy sauce, no bueno kinna cold
