Huaraches, which are yumalicious and for $6.00 less than MM.). For $14 I expected some real WOW factor; it didn't happen. BFF had the English Breakfast; two eggs, sausage, bacon, black eyed pea mash and roasted potatoes. Again, very ordinary, but I liked the mash. I'll eat anything that has even a hint of black eyed peas Went with high expectations, left disappointed. Way over hyped IMHO. Service was okay, but nothing spectacular. $30+ for my mediocre food and one beer....me thinks not. A return visit is probably not in the offing. This is a great go-to place for extensive beer variety without having to compromise a decent meal. They have a great happy hour - just look for the ribbons hanging from the taps behind the bar and order a discounted pint. IPA, Belgian, stout, lager... you name it, they got it. The recent menu updates leave a few of the best features from the old menu and add some new gems. The fried hominy has always been a sharing staple, but venturing outside the norm, I tried the fried chicken skins (a bit of a riff on buffalo wings) and the pig & fig. My first trial of the pig & fig was better than the second, but I'd be willing to go for a third attempt to split the tie. Because I adore mussels, I've tried several of the varieties offered - my favorite are the Thai and my least favorite are the blue cheese. Don't get me wrong, I adore blue cheese but the taste of the cheese is pretty dominant. But please do me a favor... don't be like the guy behind me on my last visit trying to order a Miller Lite at the bar, and worse, when told they don't carry Miller Lite, don't ask for whatever beer is closest to Miller Lite. Yes, I was back in Texas trying to enjoy a brilliant pecan beer from Dallas local brewery 512, and unfortunately CS had once again brought a loaded pistol into the restaurant/bar. Given that this is the same dude that once accidentally almost shot me back in Houston, I guess I shouldn't have been too surprised. A couple of other friends arrived, and we headed to a table so my gun-toting friend wouldn't have to worry about breaking any laws. It should be noted that the Meddlesome Moth has a strikingly comfortable atmosphere with light hues, stained glass, and an open airy dining room. The bar was fine, but this area has a subtle character. I liked it so I was fine with the relocation; it basically presented as an upgrade. SD had been eating like he was training for a heart attack during the Dallas trip, and this meal would not be any different. After ordering a salmon entree, he followed up with another entree portion of shrimp and grits. After trying the latter, I had to agree that while I could not condone his gratuitous display of eating, at least his actual selections were divine. The grits were delectably creamy with just a hint of jalapeno, and the Gulf shrimp were pleasantly plump, pregnant with flavor. For my own entree, I went with Neuske bacon and waffles. While no one will be comparing it to Niman Ranch in the near future (or Prather Ranch
