with roasted artichoke was delicious, as was the gnocchi, the risotto, corn cakes, and meatballs. We left the car at the free valet and enjoyed a nice after dinner stroll as we were all stuffed. When in Denver, be sure to head over to Root Down. We went to brunch here on a Saturday morning, and it was glorious! We started with the Daily Pastry Duo. The pastries were amazing - fresh - and served with yummy tomato jam and miso butter (the tomato jam was my favorite, but the miso butter was also memorable). I had the breakfast tacos. That day they were filled with steak. The steak was flavorful and tender - couldn't have asked for much better. We also had the bottomless mimosas. Thankfully, they used a drier champagne, so it wasn't too sweet, and you are sure to drink more than one and get your money's worth. The service was great - two of us were celebrating birthdays and they even brought us a special chocolate pudding dessert. I loved every bit of this meal and will definitely return! Bottomless Blood Orange Mimosa is no joke!! A delicious, bubbly, sweet concoction that never hits bottom. As soon as you are close, a waiter will happily come over and fill it right back up. I visited this place on a beautiful Denver Saturday afternoon after a long hike at Red Rocks. We waited about 15 minutes before we were seated on the beautiful patio. It was the perfect environment for some satisfying lunch. My boyfriend and I ordered the pulled pork omelet which I thought was alright. But I really enjoyed the colorful potatoes and salad that complemented each main course. It screamed vitamins! The fried egg omelet on a croissant was absolutely delicious! It was crusty, warm, and super filling. I also got to try the tater tot benedict which was probably one of the best benedicts I've had in my life. The sauce used was divine. Being really hungry, we also got an order of almond pancake which is very comparable to the fluffy pancakes found at Snooze. We may have over ordered but every bite was worth it. This is the place I will bring my out of state friends for lunch if they visit. Thumbs way up! Also shoutout to our awesome waiter, Gary, who came Root down, you have impressed me. I admit I was a little bit uncertain because of all the hype that surrounds it. Sometimes it lives up, and sometimes it doesn't. Things I loved: The menu is seasonal. How great is it that they change the menu depending on what's available locally? It's awesome! This is how it should be done in my opinion. Friendly service. Waitress was attentive and timed out our meal very well so that we weren't overwhelmed. The shared plates- great place to come with a group and order a bunch of different items to try. It's sort of tapas style, but you also have the option of ordering a regular old entree just for you. I think it's more fun to share and taste! And next, yes the food was great! We ordered both of the soups on the menu- one was a roasted red pepper chipotle, the other was a thai red curry and carrot soup. Both were so good in very different ways with very powerful and bold flavors. I think the curry was my fave- it was sweet and creamy curry with a surprise of some minced
