Regardless, once the store opened we had our food in about 25 minutes. Here's my only gripe about Franklin's. I was fully aware of the 3 hour wait before the store opened but since we were so far ahead in line, I didn't anticipate the additional 25 minute wait. The issue was that there was one person cutting ALL the orders, large and small. We had two people in front of us who placed large orders (one person had around 25 lbs of meat). What I didn't understand was that if you had such a large order why not just call it in? I just feel like if there was a smaller cutting station that handled obscenely large orders, such as that one, the line for actually ordering food would move along much more smoothly. Anyway, gripe aside, at least the awesome staff at Franklin's let me try the meat cuts while I was waiting so I could further cement my decision. I got the moist brisket plate and OMG WAS IT AMAZING!!! It is definitely the best brisket I've had thus far (I haven't tried Snow's yet....
that's in the works). I personally have no issues waiting in long lines as long as the food at the end of the wait lives up to the hype. Franklin's totally did that. My brisket was moist, tender, juicy, and fell apart with light flaking of my fork. So delicious. With that said, the sides were mediocre; nothing to write home about. My friend got the rib and brisket platter and I had a chance to try some of the ribs.
